POG — Password Operations Gem

What is POG?

POG stands for "Password Operation Gem".
It is a Ruby gem for simplifying:

password hashing and salting,
password-hash authentication,
password strength testing, and
random password generation.

Future Plans

POG Version 1.1 lays the groundwork for ActiveRecord integration. The POG gem will not include ActiveRecord integration however. That will be released in a separate gem (probably called "pog-activerecord"). This is to make sure that ActiveRecord is not a dependency for POG. In addition to ActiveRecord integration, we hope to add functionality to work with htpasswd and passwd files and generate phonetic passwords.
